Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant
- Handle full-cycle accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Oversee the general ledger while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports
- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Support accounts payable and receivable operations as needed
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis efforts
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audit requirements
- Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and internal controls
- Collaborate with operational leaders to deliver accurate financial reporting across multiple business units
- Support special projects, financial analysis, and other key accounting initiatives
Staff Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- At least one year of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Maintains a high level of professionalism and discretion in a member-focused setting
- Comfortable working within a unique hospitality and residential community environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage respectfully with residents, guests, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
