This is a rare opportunity to step into a foundational leadership role where you will directly shape the accounting infrastructure and help build a finance function designed for long-term growth and public-company readiness. You will work closely with senior finance leadership in an environment that is actively evolving, with significant visibility across the business and a high degree of ownership.

  • Broad operational exposure across complex financial areas, including manufacturing-style accounting, R&D-related activity, project accounting, and capital asset tracking
  • Opportunity to partner closely with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
  • Strong foundational accounting team already in place, providing a platform to build and scale
  • High-impact leadership role with input into team structure and future hires
  • Hybrid flexibility with a Denver-based organization and openness to remote arrangements

Controller – Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Oversee general ledger accounting and maintain strong internal controls to ensure audit-ready financials at all times
  • Lead accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable support, payroll accounting oversight, and fixed asset accounting
  • Drive systems implementation and optimization efforts, including migration to NetSuite and improved financial reporting processes
  • Partner with senior finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and broader strategic initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership experience
  • Strong public-company accounting background with deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and audit requirements
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite (or comparable ERP), strong Excel skills, and proven ownership of month-end close processes
