A growing, multi-state organization in the education industry is looking for a Director of Billing to own and optimize their entire billing cycle—from initial setup through collections. This is a highly visible, process-driven leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, with a focus on reducing errors, streamlining billing operations, and driving accountability across the board.

What You’ll Do as the Director of Billing

• Own the end-to-end billing process, including setup, invoicing, and collections
• Partner with Finance and Operations leaders to create and implement billing best practices
• Manage and develop a team of billing professionals
• Build training programs and lead education on new systems and processes
• Develop and standardize reporting, including AR dashboards and performance KPIs
• Lead integration efforts for new acquisitions or openings into the billing workflow
• Advise on strategy for discounts, tuition rates, and employee billing
• Support ongoing process improvement and efficiency efforts
• Communicate write-offs and AR trends to senior leadership

What We’re Looking For in a Director of Billing

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required. Additional certifications are a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in process improvement and billing operations
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams
• Strong executive communication and presentation abilities
• Comfortable driving change in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Experience in early childhood education, Procare, and/or NetSuite are large plus factors.
