Our client, a mission-driven organization, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for a multi-state workforce. What You’ll Do
Lead and manage end-to-end payroll for a multi-state workforce.
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of payroll specialists.
Oversee complex compensation items (bonuses, commissions, overtime, incentives).
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
Partner with HR & Finance on audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
Identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
Manage relationships with vendors and external auditors.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
8+ years of payroll experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.
Proven success managing multi-state payroll for large/complex organizations.
Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, garnishments, benefits deductions, and compliance standards.
Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar).
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and integrity handling confidential data.
Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership skills.
