Accounts Payable Specialist
Our client is a well-established company with over 40 years of growth and success is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its team. This organization is a leader in its industry, offering innovative solutions to customers and fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment. This position is 100% onsite in Seymour, CT!

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in 3-way match accounts payable processing, ensuring accurate matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Key responsibilities include:

• The accounts payable specialist will be responsible for processing and reconciling invoices using the 3-way match method to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
• Managing vendor relationships, including responding to inquiries and reconciling statements.
• Handling weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and updating the vendor database.
• Preparing and issuing vendor 1099 forms is a responsibility of the accounts payable specialist.
• Assisting with month-end close processes, including reconciling accounts payable to the general ledger.
• Supporting internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Collaborating with purchasing and receiving teams to ensure seamless operations.

Preferred Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• AAS/BS degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting.
• Intermediate MS Excel skills, including v-lookups and pivot tables, are a plus.
• Thorough understanding of accounts payable procedures and general ledger chart of accounts.
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
