Location: Washington, DC (Northeast – Free parking. Not easily accessible by public transportation)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Staff Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Staff Accountant will be responsible for payroll processing for 50 union employees, weekly – entering time, and then assisting Controller with the post net processing; mostly MD & DC employees
• Staff Accountant will be responsible for billing for construction contracts – some monthly, some biweekly (less than 15 per cycle)
• Staff Accountant will be responsible for AP – coding, entering into the accounting system (75-100 invoices/month)
• Staff Accountant will complete ad hoc tasks and projects, as requested

Requirements:

• 2-3+ years of accounting experience required for Staff Accountant role
• Staff Accountant should have basic Excel skills - must be able to create a spreadsheet and work with existing spreadsheets
• Must have some knowledge of GL and how AP affects the GL
• Payroll experience is a plus but NOT required
• Construction experience is a plus but NOT required
• Sage 100 experience is a plus but NOT required
• Degree is a plus but NOT required
