Key Responsibilities of the Construction Accounts Receivable Supervisor

As the Construction Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you’ll lead and manage all aspects of the accounts receivable and collections functions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is ready to take ownership of accounts receivable (AR) operations.

• Supervise and lead the AR & Collections team, offering coaching and performance feedback

• Manage AR aging reports and ensure timely collections

• Implement effective collection strategies and escalation procedures

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing issues and improve accuracy

• Approve credit applications and monitor customer credit limits and risk

• Prepare AR metrics and performance reports for senior leadership

• Oversee lien rights management and timely notice issuance on construction projects

• Handle accurate review of contractor/subcontractor pay applications

• Supervise and resolve complex issues in cash application processes

• Evaluate KPIs related to collections and identify improvement areas

• Ensure full compliance with internal controls and industry regulations

• Support the month-end and year-end closing procedures for AR

• Drive continuous improvement in the AR and collections processes

Requirements for the Construction Accounts Receivable Supervisor

The ideal Construction Accounts Receivable Supervisor candidate will bring:

• 5+ years of AR/collections experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Strong understanding of AR processes, credit risk, and best practices in collections

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAGE Intacct, Titanium, High Radius, etc.) and Microsoft Excel

• Construction industry experience is a must
