Controller
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000

About the Company & Controller Opportunity:

Our client is a leading sports organization in the Orlando area known for delivering exciting, high-impact experiences to fans and partners. With a collaborative team culture, hybrid flexibility, and a strong focus on work-life balance, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Controller looking to step into a high-visibility role within a dynamic and growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger

• Manage the month-end close process and ensure timely, GAAP-compliant financial reporting (by the 10th of each month)

• Prepare technical accounting memos and support complex accounting matters, including ASC 842 (leases) and ASC 606 (revenue recognition)

• Maintain accounting compliance, controls, and documentation aligned with GAAP and internal policies

• Lead treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, funding, positive pay, and bank activity

• Perform and review reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis

• Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to coordinate annual audits and inventory observations

• Mentor and lead the accounting team, providing guidance, delegation, performance reviews, and training

• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and senior leadership, taking direction well while offering strategic input

• Support system improvements and drive efficiencies through process documentation, flowcharts, and policy implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar degree; CPA required

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities

• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, ASC 842, ASC 606, and financial reporting standards

• Experience with treasury functions, including bank reconciliations, cash management, and positive pay preferred

• Skilled in preparing accounting memos and dissecting complex transactions

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Business Central a plus

• Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills
