Staff Fund Accountant
$65 000 - $75 000 plus bonus plus equity!
Our client, a growing publicly traded organization has created a new role as a Senior Staff accountant that will be responsible for reporting, reconciliation, and regulatory filings related to broker-dealer activities. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building the accounting framework for a growing broker-dealer business.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Fund Accountant role:

Financial Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare and maintain broker-dealer financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Compliance & Filings: Oversee and submit FINRA, SEC, and other required filings, including FOCUS reports, SIPC assessments, and net capital calculations.

General Ledger Management: Record and reconcile broker-dealer transactions, including commissions, trade settlements, and fee income.

Net Capital & Reserve Calculations: Monitor compliance with SEC Rule 15c3-1 (Net Capital Rule) and 15c3-3 (Customer Protection Rule), ensuring required capital levels are maintained.

Operational Accounting: Collaborate with compliance and operations teams to ensure proper controls around cash flow, margin requirements, and risk exposure.

Process Improvement: Develop and enhance financial controls, reporting processes, and accounting policies to support the broker-dealer business.
Preferred Qualifications for the Broker-Dealer Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Hold a Series 7 or be willing to obtain
- 3 years of experience
