About the Company & the Staff Accountant Opportunity

This newly created Staff Accountant role presents an opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and make a tangible impact. As a Staff Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in payroll compliance, tax filings, and accurate financial reporting—directly supporting leadership while contributing to a company that is transforming the future of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you’ll:

• Payroll Processing: Accurately process recurring payroll cycles, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Address payroll-related inquiries promptly.

• Compliance Management: Oversee local and multi-state payroll, employment, and business compliance requirements, including registrations, filings, and renewals.

• Sales & Use Tax: Prepare, file, and reconcile Sales and Use Tax returns across multiple states.

• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll liabilities, accruals, and other key balance sheet accounts.

• State Filings & Resolutions: Manage routine state filings, correspondence, and tax resolution matters with regulatory agencies.

• General Accounting: Support general ledger entries, assist with month-end close, and prepare schedules for reporting.

• Ad Hoc Projects: Partner with finance leadership on audits, special projects, and process improvements.

What You’ll Bring as a Staff Accountant

To succeed as a Staff Accountant, you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2–4 years of accounting experience (public or private), preferably including payroll and multi-state compliance

• Solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory filing requirements

• Experience with Sales & Use Tax filings and reconciliations

• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus) and Excel

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively across teams
