Our client is a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare organization at the forefront of preventative and personalized medicine. This newly created Staff Accountant role presents an opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and make a tangible impact. As a Staff Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in payroll compliance, tax filings, and accurate financial reporting—directly supporting leadership while contributing to a company that is transforming the future of healthcare.
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll:
Payroll Processing: Accurately process recurring payroll cycles, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Address payroll-related inquiries promptly.
Compliance Management: Oversee local and multi-state payroll, employment, and business compliance requirements, including registrations, filings, and renewals.
Sales & Use Tax: Prepare, file, and reconcile Sales and Use Tax returns across multiple states.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll liabilities, accruals, and other key balance sheet accounts.
State Filings & Resolutions: Manage routine state filings, correspondence, and tax resolution matters with regulatory agencies.
General Accounting: Support general ledger entries, assist with month-end close, and prepare schedules for reporting.
Ad Hoc Projects: Partner with finance leadership on audits, special projects, and process improvements.
To succeed as a Staff Accountant, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–4 years of accounting experience (public or private), preferably including payroll and multi-state compliance
Solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory filing requirements
Experience with Sales & Use Tax filings and reconciliations
Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus) and Excel
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively across teams
Compensation: $65,000 – $80,000 + bonus potential
