What the VP of Accounting & Finance will do…

• Own the full accounting and finance function including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

• Prepare and review property-level and consolidated financials across the portfolio

• Oversee AP/AR, CAM reconciliations, lease audits, and debt compliance

• Partner closely with CEO and operations to support decision-making and investor reporting

• Develop, refine, and implement scalable processes, controls, and systems as the company grows

• Lead and mentor a small accounting team with the potential to scale headcount

• Interface with banks, lenders, auditors, and outside advisors

• Manage financial onboarding and integration for new acquisitions or developments

• Be willing to dive into the details — from reconciling accounts to solving operational finance questions

What the company needs in a VP of Accounting & Finance:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred but not required)

• 7+ years of progressive experience in real estate accounting, with at least 3 in a leadership capacity

• Strong understanding of commercial real estate (property accounting, CAM, debt, leasing, etc.)

• Hands-on and process-minded — this person must be as comfortable in spreadsheets as they are in strategy

• Strong systems experience (Yardi, MRI, Sage Intacct, or similar)

• Excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
