Job Title: Controller
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-based) – EST Hours
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 total compensation

We’re seeking a Controller who is both strategic and detail-driven to help drive accuracy, compliance, and financial clarity across our client’s organization. This is a pivotal role reporting to the VP of Finance, with an immediate focus on cleaning up and optimizing the NetSuite Chart of Accounts (COA) — laying the foundation for audit readiness, scale, and improved cross-functional reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• As Controller, own the cleanup, optimization, and long-term structure of the NetSuite Chart of Accounts.
• Lead preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements and disclosures.
• Provide accounting guidance on complex transactions (reinsurance, investment instruments, revenue recognition).
• The Controller will collaborate with auditors and regulatory agencies, preparing documentation and managing responses.
• Support the implementation and ongoing documentation of SOX/internal controls over financial reporting.
• Partner cross-functionally with actuarial, finance, legal, and compliance teams to ensure accounting policies align across departments.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, automation, and scalability.
• Serve as the go-to Controller for all NetSuite-related accounting initiatives and integrations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years in public accounting or corporate accounting, ideally in insurance, warranty, or financial services sectors.
• Deep experience with NetSuite, especially COA design/cleanup and vendor integrations (e.g., Ramp, payment processors).
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and exceptional communication skills.
• Proven ability to operate as a hands-on Controller while also thinking strategically.
