Overview:
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Plant Controller to join their leadership team. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the plant, providing financial insight, and driving performance through strategic financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in manufacturing accounting and a proven ability to manage all aspects of financial reporting and control.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the plant’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Manage full P&L responsibilities, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
Oversee all aspects of inventory accounting, including reconciliation, valuation, and management of standard costs.
Monitor and coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Develop and deliver ad hoc financial reports and analyses to support decision-making at both the plant and corporate levels.
Partner with operational leadership to drive cost savings initiatives and enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure accurate month-end and year-end closing activities in compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
Maintain and improve internal controls, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and audit requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
CPA (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost variance analysis.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
