Job Description: As an Assistant Controller at our client's company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing budgeting, financial operations and overseeing several team members. Your expertise will contribute to the company's continued success and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Controller in managing financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes with emphasis on reducing the number of days to close.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions.
- Provide guidance and support for financial audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Support the Controller in budgeting, producing KPI's and forecasting activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and make informed recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Leadership experience in a similar role, preferably in the Distribution or Manufacturing industry, cost knowledge a plus
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems like Epicor or Oracle.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound financial decisions.
