Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT :

• Assist with month end close, compiling and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
• Prepares quarterly and annual statutory financial statements for the insurance companies and completes reconciliations between IFRS and statutory reporting
• Drafts Footnote disclosures and management discussions and analysis for regulatory reporting
• Performs complex functions associated with GAAP and statutory financial reporting
• Assists in improving the monthly/quarterly close and reporting process.
• Prepares, reviews and maintains documentation and testing of controls over financial reporting, as assigned.
• Establish, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
• Ad-hoc projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:

• BS degree in Accounting
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• 4+yrs accounting experience
• 2+ years Insurance experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
