Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Hybrid (Elgin, IL)
Salary: $60,000 – $65,000

Our client, a well-established company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a hybrid opportunity offering competitive pay and full benefits starting the first of the month following the hire date.

As an integral member of the finance department, the Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, managing check runs, and improving AP processes across multiple entities. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and experienced in managing large volumes of data in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable for multiple entities and vendors

• Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies

• Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices per departmental procedures

• Perform weekly AP check runs and account reconciliations

• Compare purchase orders, pricing, and contract terms

• Reconcile AP ledger and validate expense accounts and cost centers

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within AP functions

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounts payable experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tight deadlines

• Flexible and adaptable with a working knowledge of accounting principles
