Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Palatine, IL
Work Setting: Fully Onsite
Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 base + Discretionary Bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

About the Company:
Our client is a stable and growing manufacturing company located in the northern suburbs of Chicago. They foster a hands-on, team-oriented environment and are looking for a dedicated Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with both operations and finance, providing critical insights into cost and inventory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead

• Perform inventory analysis and reconcile variances

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities

• Partner with operations and supply chain to support cost control and efficiency initiatives

• Prepare journal entries and internal reports related to costing

• Support continuous improvement projects related to financial processes and reporting

• Utilize ERP systems to extract and analyze cost data

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 3+ years of relevant cost and inventory accounting experience

• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis

• Comfortable in a hands-on, blended accounting/finance role

• Excellent Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems

• Epicor experience is a strong plus
