The Systems Administrator supports and manages the day-to-day operations of IT systems and infrastructure. This hybrid role (remote/in-office) involves maintaining and improving IT systems, resolving escalated technical issues, and assisting with projects that enhance business efficiency.
Monitor, maintain, and administer assigned systems, applications, servers, workstations, and network devices.
Resolve technical issues escalated by Tier 1/2 support and provide mentorship to junior IT team members.
Collaborate with business units to optimize use of technology and applications.
Maintain accurate inventory of systems, software, and hardware.
Configure IP settings and perform basic network troubleshooting.
Maintain system documentation including procedures, diagrams, and configuration records.
Process change requests including user permissions, provisioning, deprovisioning, and configuration updates.
Support the design and rollout of new systems and infrastructure changes.
Assist business units in managing their specific IT systems.
Evaluate, test, and deploy client software and updates.
Optimize performance across systems, databases, and applications.
Automate administrative tasks using scripting or workflow tools.
Participate in the Problem Management process and preventative maintenance (e.g., patches, updates, hotfixes).
Provide after-hours on-call support on a rotating basis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Server technologies.
Strong customer service orientation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective at prioritizing tasks in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Competence in basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting.
Education:
Associate degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field required.
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in hardware/software troubleshooting.
6 years of experience with technologies such as:
VMware Virtualization
SQL Server
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS
Patch Management (SCCM/Intune)
M365, Centralized Antivirus, and Backup Systems
3 years of experience deploying and managing:
Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022
Windows 10/11 Client OS
