Project Accountant – Hybrid | $70,000–$75,000 | Carmel, IN

Are you an accounting professional who enjoys being at the center of projects and financial activity? Our client, a reputable and growing company based in Carmel, IN, is looking for a Project Accountant to join their team! This is a hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 remote) offering excellent benefits, a collaborative work environment, and long-term growth potential.
What You’ll Do:

Manage all project-related accounting functions including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting

Collaborate with project managers and department leads to ensure accurate billing and project financials

Review and process contracts, change orders, and client invoices

Analyze variances between budgeted and actual costs and provide insights to leadership

Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations
-
Support month-end close and reconciliation processes related to project accounting
What You Bring:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

2+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in construction, engineering, or professional services

Strong understanding of GAAP and project accounting principles

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Experience with project-based accounting software is a plus (e.g., Deltek, Sage, Viewpoint)
