Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Terre Haute, IN

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire - Permanent

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing the overall accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Assist in the preparation of and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
• Provide support to the Controller in all financial matters.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting software packages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
