Interim Controller - Baltimore, MD

About the Company and Interim Controller Opportunity:

• CFS is partnering with a client in the Southern Baltimore area to find a hands on Interim Controller to manage the full accounting cycle, including month end close, billing, collections, and GL activities. This is a contract role that is anticipated to last 90+ days
• Schedule: Hybrid role M-F 9am-5pm. Must be commutable to the Baltimore area (2–3 days/week in office). Free parking provided!
• Reports to the CFO
• Salary: $100,000-$130,000 depending on experience

Job Duties for the Interim Controller:

• Lead efforts in billing and collections, including making collection calls
• Assist with month end close process
• Maintain accuracy of financial records and ensure timely reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Assist in developing budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning
• Support internal and external audit processes as needed
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements
• Keep the accounting team organized and on track
• Special projects as needed

Qualifications for the Interim Controller:

• 4+ years accounting experience
  • Strong background in general ledger accounting and closing activities
• Experience using Sage Intacct a plus, but not required
• Proficiency with Excel required (ability to do lookups and pivot tables)
• Supervisory experience highly preferred
• Proactive, organized, comfortable with hands on "in the weeds" accounting work including making collections calls
