Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Controller to join their dynamic and growing team in Bowie, Maryland. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong financial acumen, a deep understanding of GAAP, and a proactive approach to improving processes and supporting strategic goals. Controller Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure internal controls are effective and maintained.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit process.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering growth and development.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic planning and financial decision-making.
