Staff Accountant

Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Compensation: $60,000–$70,000
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Onsite)

Staff Accountant Key Responsibilities

1. Perform general ledger entries and reconciliations

2. Handle cost accounting activities and analysis

3. Oversee HR-related tasks, including:

   • Weekly payroll oversight (processed by Paychex)

   • Assisting with hiring, onboarding, and recruitment efforts (as needed)

   • Supporting open enrollment, 401(k), and benefit administration

4. Manage and execute month-end closing processes

5. Support and maintain bank compliance and reporting

Staff Accountant Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience

• Experience with payroll, benefits, or general HR tasks preferred

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus

• Advanced in Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small, team-oriented office
