Job Description:
Staff Accountant
Location: Hybrid | Grand Rapids, MI
Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000
Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Grand Rapids, MI. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both in-office and remotely, with a full time schedule. Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable (AP), including invoice processing and cash disbursements
- Reconcile cash activity between the bank and company records
- File monthly sales and use taxes
- Record journal entries, including cash, prepaids, and accruals
- Complete account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records
Qualifications:
- Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (open to recent graduates with internships)
- At least 1 year of experience in general accounting (AP/AR/GL)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience or familiarity with data analytics
- Preferred:
- Experience with NetSuite and AP/AR processing
- Knowledge of state and use tax regulations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Background in healthcare
