Junior Accountant

• Our client is a prominent Healthcare/nonprofit organization located in Brooklyn, NY. They are currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join their growing team.
• They are a stable organization that has been operational for over 160 years; they work directly with patients as well as future doctors, nurses.
• They also work very closely with the community on various programs including food, health and education.
• This role will be reporting into the Controller who loves to be a mentor and help someone grow in their career.
• This position will be in office 100%. They are located near many train lines including the L, M and various buses. There is also a lot of street parking around the office.

Responsibilities of the Junior Accountant Include:

• Accountant will be recording daily cash bank transactions
• Preparing schedules, prepaid expenses and inputting them into the general ledger
• Bank reconciliations
• Creation of reports via Microsoft Excel for review and financial decision making by management
• Utilize payroll data for projecting and forecasting purposes, analyze department expenses as needed
• Additional ad hoc duties assigned by the Controller and team

Qualifications

• 1+ years of accounting experience
• Strong Excel Skills and some experience with additional accounting systems
• Pleasant attitude, go-getter mentality
• Bachelors degree in Accounting a plus
