Job Title: Construction Operations Manager
Location: Columbus, Ohio (Relocation assistance available)
Salary Range: $150,000 – $190,000, commensurate with experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of labor, materials, and equipment to meet project requirements, deliver high-quality outcomes, and maintain customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:

• Oversee project execution post-handoff from project management, including:
  • Labor and equipment scheduling
  • Resolving scheduling conflicts
  • Managing equipment fleet, tools, and maintenance shop
  • Maintaining inventory and generating purchase orders
  • Coordinating material shipments
  • Managing non-project labor and productivity
  • Overseeing yard projects and maintaining cleanliness
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payroll timecard submissions
• Supervise field staff including superintendents, foremen, and laborers
• Enforce company policies and safety standards
• Conduct and document quarterly and annual inventory assessments
• Ensure customer satisfaction during and after project execution
• Maintain high standards for product installation and project outcomes
• Approve foreman expenditures and expense reports
• Complete billing and administrative tasks promptly
• Communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders
• Understand and apply Department of Transportation specifications

Qualifications of the Operations Manager:

• Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or associate degree (2 years) in a construction-related field
• Minimum of 5 years of field experience
• Basic understanding of economics, accounting, engineering, construction techniques, sales, customer service, and HR
• Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
• Effective communication and presentation abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and integrated accounting software
