Overview:
We’re excited to partner with a growing Columbus-based organization in their search for a Controller. Company leadership is seeking a motivated, high-potential individual to mentor with the intention of transitioning leadership responsibilities in the coming years.

Position Summary:
The Controller will lead financial reporting, oversee accounting operations, manage lease administration, and support investment analysis. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong foundation in real estate or asset management accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate financial statements and lead month-end/year-end close processes.
• Conduct financial analysis, variance reporting, and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Supervise job cost and accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage lease tracking and administration, including rent calculations and critical date monitoring.
• Develop financial models for debt underwriting and investment analysis.
• Draft investor reports and compile financial packages for financing and compliance.
• Maintain internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Preferred Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in real estate, property management, or construction.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
