Our client, a manufacturer in the Dayton area, is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead and actively engage in financial operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Month-End Close & Reporting: Personally oversee close processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Inventory & Costing Expertise: Lead costing strategies and maintain financial accuracy through hands-on inventory management
• Financial Leadership & Execution: Balance high-level financial insights with direct involvement in reconciliations, reporting, and audits
• Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop and refine financial projections while working directly with key financial data
• Process Improvement: Strengthen accounting procedures through direct analysis and implementation of best practices
• Team Development & Support: Not just lead, but actively mentor and collaborate with accounting team members

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in management
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing accounting, inventory management, and cost optimization
• Strong leadership combined with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach to financial operations
