Role Overview:
They are seeking an experienced Tax Preparation Accountant to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and a commitment to delivering excellent client service. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, advising on tax strategies, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns (filing 1040, 1099, 940, 1120, Schedule C)
- Conduct thorough reviews of client financial records to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and advise clients on effective strategies.
- Stay updated on changes to tax regulations and implement best practices.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and provide clear guidance.
- Respond to IRS or state agency inquiries on behalf of clients.
- General accounting functions for client companies, i.e. bookkeeping, payroll, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or EA preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
