Grant Accountant – Keep the Funds Flowing & Make an Impact with a Purpose-Driven Nonprofit!

Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization in NE Portland, is seeking a Grant Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with expertise in grant management, revenue reconciliation, and accounts payable support. The Grant Accountant will be responsible for overseeing grant billing, monitoring incoming funds, and reconciling revenue on a monthly basis. This role also involves outreach to funders to ensure timely payments and reviewing accounts receivable cash receipts. Additionally, the Grant Accountant will provide accounts payable support as needed.

Key Responsibilities of the role: Grant Accountant

• Administer comprehensive grant billing processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing in compliance with funder guidelines and grant agreements
• Monitor and track incoming grant funds, maintaining detailed records to ensure proper allocation and documentation of all receipts
• Perform monthly revenue reconciliations, analyzing variances and ensuring alignment between recorded income and actual cash receipts
• Proactively communicate with funding agencies to resolve discrepancies and follow up on outstanding payments, fostering strong relationships and ensuring timely cash flow
• Reconciling grant projects, reconciling general ledger reports with grant financial/budget reports, and preparing for audits
• Review, verify, and post accounts receivable transactions, ensuring the accuracy of cash receipts and adherence to internal controls and accounting standards
