Interim Program Finance Manager
Location: Portland, OR
Job Description:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a leading defense contractor supporting complex programs, is seeking a Program Finance Manager with expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM), and financial reporting. This is a high-visibility role partnering directly with Program Management and FP&A to deliver financial clarity and operational control across large-scale government contracts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the financial reporting process for assigned programs—monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc.
- Implement and manage Earned Value Management practices in line with internal and external (DCMA) standards.
- Collaborate with scheduling teams to ensure cost/schedule integration and alignment with project baselines.
- Prepare program performance reports including CPR/IPMR formats, variance analysis, and EAC forecasts.
- Lead coordination of financial inputs for contract modifications, baseline changes, and forecast updates.
- Interface regularly with internal stakeholders, customer finance reps, and auditors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Program finance or project controls experience in a DoD/government contracting environment.
- Proven expertise in Earned Value Management and related reporting tools – Primavera P6, IFS, and Tableau would be a plus.
- Deep understanding of cost and schedule control, performance metrics, and forecasting methods.
- Strong communication skills with experience supporting program reviews and audits.
