ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

$120,000- $135,000 + Bonus

OVERVIEW OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER ROLE:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department with a focus on Accounts Payable.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of tasks.
- Manage month-end close activities and preparation of financial statements.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and regulatory filings (e.g., FFIEC, NCUA, FDIC).
- Work closely with the Controller to support strategic initiatives and special projects.
- Coordinate year-end audits and provide support during regulatory examinations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including direct supervision of staff.
- Strong Accounts Payable experience, with a solid understanding of end-to-end AP processes.
- Background in the financial services industry strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
