PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT
Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid)
$60,000- $75,000

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join our client's accounting team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in processing bi-weekly payroll and maintaining compliance with payroll-related laws. You’ll also help drive smooth operations by supporting accounting and HR functions across the board.

OVERVIEW OF THE PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT ROLE:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees across various teams and departments
• Ensure accurate handling of employee wages, benefits, bonuses, and deductions
• Maintain employee payroll data in ADP or equivalent systems
• Work closely with HR to onboard new hires and process employee changes
• Resolve payroll-related questions and troubleshoot issues for staff
• Prepare payroll-related reports, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Assist in preparing documents for financial reviews and audits
• Handle quarterly and year-end reporting, including W-2 distribution and 401k reporting
• Keep records organized and audit-ready

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT:

2+ years of experience handling payroll
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate’s or higher preferred)
Knowledge of wage laws, tax withholdings, and payroll compliance
Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP preferred) and Excel
Strong attention to accuracy and confidentiality
