General Ledger Accountant

Location: Herndon, VA – Position will be 100% in-office for training then offer a more flexible schedule on work location

Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for full charge general ledger accounting
• General Ledger Accountant will complete balance sheet reconciliations
• General Ledge Accountant will make month end journal entries (accruals and deferrals)
• General Ledger Accountant will complete revenue file review and upload invoicing. Will receive a file from billing (possibly daily) that the General Ledger Accountant will import into accounting system and review for accuracy.
• General Ledger Accountant will be responsible or monthly reporting into consolidation system and intercompany reconciliations. Will push a button in Cognos to update and tie everything out.
• General Ledger Accountant will complete ad hoc tasks and projects, as requested

Requirements:

• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
• Degree – at least an associate’s in accounting
• Associate’s degree in accounting required at a minimum
• Excel – Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, creating basic spreadsheets, formulas, importing information
• Able to review and analyze data to make sure everything is in balance.
