Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Everett | On-site
Salary Range: $55,000 – $70,000 DOE

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, grant tracking, and revenue reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nonprofit funding structures, including restricted and unrestricted funds, and a passion for making an impact through precise financial management.

Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

• Prepare and submit invoices for grants, contracts, and services in full compliance with funder and contract requirements.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with funders and partners on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection and positive cash flow.
• Properly allocate incoming revenue across various funding streams, programs, and cost centers (restricted and unrestricted).
• Maintain detailed and organized documentation to support internal audits, external funder reviews, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate closely with program managers, funders, and the finance team to resolve billing discrepancies and verify data accuracy.
• Support month-end close by preparing AR-related entries and contributing data for financial reports and audits.

Preferred Qualifications for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or billing, preferably within a nonprofit or government-funded environment.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting practices, including fund tracking and grant compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record-keeping.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software (MIP, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
