Accounting Manager-Olympia

- Position is open due to an upcoming retirement after 10 + years with the organization

Job duties of the Accounting Manager Role:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department; oversee all transactions related to the GL, receivables, payables, payroll, memberships and financial reporting
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines, in collaboration with CFO; Ensure compliance with recognized accounting standards and local, state and federal requirements; lead implementation of any new GASB statements and FASB accounting standards updates.
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget, including management of budget data input in accounting system
- Manage accounting system implementations and upgrades
- Provide detailed information required to facilitate the organization’s audit and corporate tax return processes and audits and tax returns
Qualifications preferred for the Accounting Manager Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related field; CPA is required or must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
- 2-3 years of prior supervisory experience
- Must have experience with in Non-profit or governmental agencies
- Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) updates and implementations
- Experience with NetSuite is a Plus
