Overview of the Payroll Specialist Role:

• Collect, verify, and enter daily/weekly timesheet data with a high level of accuracy.
• Process payroll and distribute paychecks in a timely and compliant manner.
• Maintain payroll records including wage changes, deductions, benefits, and 401(k) contributions.
• Prepare preliminary payroll reports and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
• Ensure accurate remittance of federal, state, and local tax payments.
• Support benefits administration and assist with annual 401(k) audit preparation.
• Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed within a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist:

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• 2+ years of full-cycle, in-house payroll processing experience
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel/Office Suite
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, and garnishments
• Understanding of accounting principles and payroll compliance
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-driven with strong time management skills
• Professional communication and a service-oriented approach
• Trusted to handle confidential information with integrity
