Job Description:

Payroll Specialist –

Location: South Seattle (On-site)
Salary Range: $56,160–$72,800 DOE

Are you an experienced payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and confidentiality? We’re currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to support a high-volume, multi-state payroll process for a construction-based team located in South Seattle.

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity offering stability, growth potential, and a collaborative environment where your attention to detail and knowledge of payroll practices will make an immediate impact.

Overview of the Payroll Specialist Role:

As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll be responsible for a variety of payroll and administrative tasks, including:

  • Performing accurate data entry using calculators/10-key, word processing, spreadsheets, and database systems
  • Supporting the weekly processing and distribution of multi-state payroll
  • Creating and maintaining employee records including new hires, status changes, transfers, and terminations
  • Preparing and maintaining garnishment and other deduction records
  • Verifying and auditing timekeeping records for compliance and accuracy
  • Scanning, coding, and indexing payroll records into the document management system (CDM)
  • Preparing weekly certified payroll reports and monthly/annual union reports
  • Remitting union-related payments including fringe benefits, dues, and initiation fees
  • Interpreting multi-state collective bargaining agreements
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all payroll and compensation data
  • Supporting safe work practices and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment

Preferred Qualification for the Payroll Specialists:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of related payroll experience
  • Working knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Sage and/or CMiC payroll systems preferred

This Payroll Specialist position is ideal for someone who values structure, consistency, and being part of a team that supports critical payroll functions in a busy, hands-on environment. You'll work on-site in South Seattle and be a vital part of keeping payroll processes running smoothly and accurately.
