OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
We’re seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our client’s payroll team. This role will serve as a key point of contact for payroll-related inquiries while supporting full-cycle payroll processing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
PAYROLL SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process payroll, including multi-state payroll and year-end reporting
- The Payroll Specialist will respond to employee and manager inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and HR services
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies using internal systems and case management tools
- Reconcile payroll data and ensure accurate reporting of wages, taxes, and deductions
- The Payroll Specialist will support HR systems by troubleshooting issues and assisting with system updates/testing
- The Payroll Specialist will process employment verifications, garnishments, and unemployment claims
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE PAYROLL SPECIALIST ROLE:
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll tax
- Strong Excel and HRIS system experience
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
