Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Office Manager:
- Own day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Maintain accurate financial records for inventory, compliance, and project documentation
- Oversee construction accounting, job costing, and progress billing
- Manage month-end close and prepare financial packages for the external CPA firm
- Support process improvements and help build a scalable office structure
- Support sales team as needed
- Handle ad hoc duties as needed including daily close of the business
Qualifications for the Accounting Office Manager:
- 4+ years’ accounting experience required
- Experience working in a one person or small accounting department preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field a plus (but not required)
- Experience using QuickBooks a plus
- Basic Excel skills required
- Experience in construction industry a plus (but not required; can be taught on the job)
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Salary: $72,000-$75,000
Schedule: 100% on site in Upper Marlboro, MD. Monday-Friday 7am-4pm
