Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

  • Manage Accounts Payable processes including invoice coding, processing, and vendor communication
  • Handle lien waivers, subcontractor compliance, and related documentation (core responsibility)
  • Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close activities
  • Investigate discrepancies, questionable transactions, and support internal controls
  • Assist with job cost tracking and construction-related accounting processes
  • Partner with leadership to improve workflows and prepare for audits
  • Contribute to process improvements as the company continues to scale

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction or project-based environments
  • Strong experience with lien waivers and subcontractor payment processes required
  • Solid understanding of reconciliations and general accounting principles
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
