Location: Lakeville, MN (Hybrid)
Compensation: $190K base + 20% target bonus

About the Role:
A growing, service-focused organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all aspects of financial operations, reporting, and internal controls. This role reports directly to the CFO and will oversee a finance and accounting team including an Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, AP/AR Specialists, and Accounting Clerks.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, payroll, AP/AR, and month-end close.

Prepare accurate, timely financial statements, reconciliations, and reports.

Manage bi-weekly payroll and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.

Oversee cash flow and support operational and strategic initiatives.

Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.

Analyze financial results and trends to provide actionable insights to the executive team.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.

Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial processes.

Coordinate audits, tax filings, and 401(k) audits with external partners.

Lead ERP and system enhancements, process improvements, and automation initiatives.

Provide regular financial updates, KPIs, and operational insights to the CFO.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; MS in Accounting preferred.

CPA strongly preferred.

15+ years of relevant financial experience, including at least 5 years as a Controller with supervisory responsibilities.

Experience with payroll, multi-entity financial reporting, consolidations, and intercompany accounting.

Background in service-based or technology industries preferred.

Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills.

Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
