HR Assistant Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, maintaining personnel records, and HRIS data entry
- The HR Assistant will assist with recruitment activities such as posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications
- Provide administrative support for employee benefits, including enrollment, open enrollment support, and communication with employees and vendors
- The HR Assistant will help track leaves of absence, including FMLA and other leave programs, ensuring accurate documentation
- Respond to employee and supervisor inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with employee relations and compliance documentation, including maintaining files for disciplinary actions, audits, and other HR processes
- The HR Assistant will support performance review processes, training coordination, and organization-wide HR initiatives
Required Skills & Abilities for HR Assistant Role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focused mindset when supporting employees at all levels
- Basic knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn HRIS platforms
- Experience with Paylocity or a similar HRIS is a plus
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
