Director of Accounting/Finance

We are seeking a strategic, hands‑on Director of Accounting/Finance to lead all accounting and financial operations for a growing, mission‑driven non-profit organization with $25–$27 million in annual revenue near the Columbia, MD area. This is a highly visible role offering direct access to the Executive Director and Board, with meaningful influence over financial strategy, operations, and long‑term growth.
Offering:
- Salary: $130,000–$150,000
- Bonus: Up to 5%

What You’ll Do as a Director of Accounting/Finance:
- Oversee all accounting, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis
- Prepare annual operating budgets and interim financial reports
- Ensure GAAP compliance, strong internal controls, and audit readiness
- Manage monthly close, general ledger, debt service, taxes, and insurance
- Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and Medicare Cost Report
- Lead, develop, and support the finance team
- Serve as a trusted partner to leadership and the Board
Director of Accounting/Finance Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
- CPA preferred
- 10+years progressive accounting and finance experience with proven management experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge and financial leadership experience
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment and discretion
- Detail‑oriented, accurate, and collaborative communicator
