About the Opportunity – Interim Plant Controller
This is a high-impact interim leadership opportunity within a manufacturing environment undergoing post-acquisition integration. The Interim Plant Controller will step into a visible, hands-on role, partnering closely with operations and finance leadership during a critical transition period. The assignment is fully onsite and designed for a collaborative, team-oriented professional who thrives in change-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities – Interim Plant Controller
- Serve as the lead plant accounting professional, overseeing 2–3 direct reports
- Own and lead month-end close, reconciliations, and plant-level financial statement accuracy
- Support post-acquisition integration activities, including systems and inventory process migration
- Oversee plant budgeting, audits, inventory controls, and cost accounting activities
- Partner closely with operations and sales to support plant performance and decision-making
- Provide audit support and ensure strong internal controls across plant functions
- Lead and mentor the plant accounting team during the transition period
- Adapt responsibilities such as treasury, AP, and payables until transition to corporate takes place
Qualifications – Interim Plant Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Commercial manufacturing experience required; food manufacturing experience a plus
- Strong background in inventory, cost accounting, and plant financial controls
- CPA preferred but not required
- Proven experience navigating post-acquisition environments and systems migrations
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and leaders
- Highly interactive, team-focused leader who is visible on the plant floor
- Thick-skinned, adaptable, and solutions-oriented with a positive, collaborative approach
- Bilingual English/Spanish helpful but not required
