Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across all payroll cycles
  • Oversee prevailing wage payroll administration, ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and local requirements
  • Supervise payroll staff, including training, workflow management, and performance oversight
  • Maintain and improve payroll systems, processes, and internal controls to support scalability and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations, including tax filings, deductions, garnishments, and wage and hour laws
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring data integrity
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and leadership to support payroll strategy, reporting, and continuous process improvement

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of payroll experience with prior leadership or supervisory responsibility in a multi-state environment
  • Strong, hands-on expertise in prevailing wage payroll is required, including processing, compliance, and reporting
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or similarly complex payroll environments strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of all payroll transactions
  • Solid understanding of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, deductions, and multi-jurisdiction compliance requirements
  • Experience supervising or mentoring payroll staff and supporting day-to-day operational workflow
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to identify and support system/process improvements
