Overview
Large, privately-held Seattle based company is seeking a big picture Senior Accounts Payable professional to help develop process improvements and procedures and implement new technology in order to create efficiency. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely vendor payments, supporting month-end close, and driving process improvements within the AP function. The ideal candidate brings strong systems knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
What You’ll Do
- Process a complex vendor invoices with accuracy, ensuring proper coding and approvals
- Validate invoice data against purchase orders, receipts, and contract terms
- Research and resolve discrepancies, pricing issues, and missing documentation
- Serve as a senior point of contact for vendor inquiries and escalations
- Partner with internal teams to resolve issues and streamline workflows
- Support month-end close, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies
- Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Support implementation of AP automation tools or system enhancements
- Mentor junior AP team members and share best practices
Who You Are
- AA or BA highly preferred
- Strong understanding of AP workflows and three-way matching
- Experience working with Tier 1 ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets
- Creative problem solver with project management mindset
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
