Senior Property Accountant – Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close activities for assigned properties and legal entities
- Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Perform detailed variance and flux analysis and provide explanations for financial statement fluctuations
- Support audit activities and assist with preparation of audit schedules and requested documentation
- Partner with leadership to strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures
- Assist with multi-entity reporting, consolidations, and portfolio-level financial analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
Senior Property Accountant – Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline
- 4+ years of progressive property accounting, real estate accounting, or financial reporting experience in the real estate industry
- Experience within institutional real estate, commercial real estate, REITs, investment management, or similar environments strongly preferred
- Experience with financial reporting, audit support, variance analysis, and internal controls
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with Yardi
