Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
- Own key areas of revenue accounting, including contract review and compliance with IFRS 15
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Support rebate reserves, accruals, and revenue-related estimates
- Partner with commercial teams to provide insight into future revenue expectations
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close and reporting processes
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and audit support materials
- Analyze complex accounting issues (e.g., impairment, inventory reserves) and recommend proper treatment
- Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives and special projects
Ideal Background for the Senior Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA a plus
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition (IFRS 15; ASC 606 exposure also relevant)
- Experience working with SAP (preferred) or Oracle ERP systems
- Background in med tech, pharma, or a regulated industry is a plus
- Proven ability to handle complex accounting areas (accruals, reserves, contract accounting)
- Strong Excel skills and analytical mindset
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience driving or contributing to process improvements
