Human Resource Generalist – Grand Rapids, MI

Our client is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support a growing HR team in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing both strategic and hands-on responsibilities across recruiting, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting including sourcing, interviewing, candidate selection, and onboarding
  • Partner with managers to identify hiring needs and required skill sets
  • Administer employee benefits, leave management, and compensation-related processes
  • Support employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance improvement plans
  • Ensure completion and compliance of required training, onboarding, and employee assessments
  • Conduct background checks and employment verification
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Assist with HR initiatives related to talent development, employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture
  • Serve as a resource for employee questions and HR policy guidance

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Human Resources with exposure to recruiting, benefits, and employee relations
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
  • SHRM-CP or similar certification preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, medical equipment, or regulated environments is a plus
