Human Resource Generalist – Grand Rapids, MI
Our client is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support a growing HR team in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing both strategic and hands-on responsibilities across recruiting, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruiting including sourcing, interviewing, candidate selection, and onboarding
- Partner with managers to identify hiring needs and required skill sets
- Administer employee benefits, leave management, and compensation-related processes
- Support employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance improvement plans
- Ensure completion and compliance of required training, onboarding, and employee assessments
- Conduct background checks and employment verification
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Assist with HR initiatives related to talent development, employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture
- Serve as a resource for employee questions and HR policy guidance
Qualifications:
- Experience in Human Resources with exposure to recruiting, benefits, and employee relations
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
- SHRM-CP or similar certification preferred
- Experience in healthcare, medical equipment, or regulated environments is a plus
